Key Responsibilities

  • •Define the architecture for local and remote developer environments, including dev containers and the full local-to-remote loop for thousands of engineers.
  • •Build and standardize monorepo developer tooling at scale as teams consolidate onto a shared backend.
  • •Provision production-shaped environments quickly, keep state in sync across the network, and make remote machines feel local reliably and cheaply.
  • •Design AI-agent-ready sandboxes that spin up on demand, run in parallel, and safely support real repo workflows, including agent support via IDE/CLI/Slack.
  • •Set technical direction, unblock deep cross-cutting problems, mentor engineers, and influence engineering leadership through sequenced strategies.

Key Requirements

  • •Have a track record of shipping production systems and leading cross-team initiatives with group-level impact.
  • •Be fluent in languages and tooling used for developer tooling, such as Go, Python, and TypeScript.
  • •Have experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
  • •Have experience managing compute with Kubernetes (including isolation, autoscaling ephemeral workloads, and cost management) or lightweight VM/sandbox technology such as Firecracker.
  • •Have working knowledge of cloud networking and experience integrating LLM/AI tooling into developer workflows (locally and remotely).
