Job Summary

Establish mechanical requirements for PC notebook products and engineer/validate designs that meet those targets. Partner with internal teams, external suppliers, and development partners to deliver innovative mechanical solutions, drive architectural decisions, and ensure goals across quality, cost, schedule, reliability, acoustics, and safety. Build and direct CAD models, interpret test data, lead cross-functional technical choices, and help generate intellectual property through technology investigations.

Key Responsibilities

•Establish product mechanical requirements, engineer products to meet them, and validate that requirements are met for PC notebooks.
•Lead mechanical architecture and define component and system-level specifications, including creating and directing CAD models.
•Interpret test data and provide status reporting for assigned team projects to support design targets across quality, reliability, acoustics, cost, schedule, and safety.
•Provide technical expertise and engineering leadership to influence future mobile product design, focusing on the front-end design cycle.
•Collaborate with marketing and internal teams, direct design enablement with external development partners (ODMs), and partner with technology providers to identify innovation opportunities and generate intellectual property.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 200,000 - 258,000 annually

Key Requirements

•BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar) with 10+ years of experience.
•Strong ability to assess and optimize products using mechanical, electrical, power, thermal, firmware, and BIOS tradeoffs.
•Expert knowledge of engineering design principles, including large-scale production, sheet metal, injection molding, electrical interconnects, heat extraction, and vibration.
•For Mechanical: extensive experience with 3D CAD systems and the ability to create concept models, interrogate production development models, and interpret mechanical simulations, design, test, and qualification requirements.
•For Electrical: extensive embedded systems electronics experience, including schematics and PCB layout, with strong analog/digital circuit foundations and high-speed design experience.
