Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

  • •Follow safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and use lockout procedures while working on assigned equipment areas.
  • •Utilize electrical knowledge to hook up motors and run single-phase circuits; check fuses and reset/replace thermal heater units.
  • •Perform plumbing, mechanical, and repair work including pumps, piping, pumps, conveyors/chains/belts, lubrication, and replacing or repairing components.
  • •Carry out welding and cutting tasks, including making serviceable welds on steel/aluminum, using cutting torch, soft solder, and identifying different steel types.
  • •Return production to optimal speed by repairing or replacing defective parts, coordinating with maintenance personnel, and completing daily cleanup and required paperwork.

Key Requirements

  • •Demonstrate mechanical attitude and improve skill/knowledge in two or more mechanical areas (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, welding/cutting, or related shop work).
  • •Know and follow all safety procedures, including good housekeeping and lock out procedures.
  • •Be able to connect and troubleshoot single- and three-phase motors, identify burned-up motors, and use test tools such as an amp probe, volt meter, and continuity tester.
  • •Have plumbing skills such as pipe and fitting knowledge, installing pipes with minimal flow restrictions and no leaks, and understanding pumps and gauges/meters.
  • •Be able to perform welding/cutting and shop-tool work, including using an electric welder, cutting torch, drill press, grinders, and other maintenance tools while maintaining work areas and PPE requirements.
