Job Summary

Lead end-to-end survey project delivery for WSP’s Geomatics Surveying team from the Troy, New York office. Oversee survey plan production, field crew scheduling, QA/QC reviews, project tracking, reporting, and survey data processing, including boundary determinations with PLS guidance. Manage budgets, equipment, estimates/proposals, billing, and receivables, while recruiting, mentoring staff, and coordinating with internal engineering teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee survey plan production and deliverables, schedule and set up field crews, and maintain project tracking software.
•Conduct QA/QC reviews, manage equipment and supplies, prepare survey reports, and process/review survey data including boundary determinations and adjustments to survey control with PLS guidance.
•Prepare estimates and proposals, participate in business development, and manage billing and account receivables for projects under their name.
•Recruit, mentor, and educate new staff; coordinate with internal engineering teams, other WSP departments, and external subconsultants.
•Support development and implementation of company policies, procedures, and standards while exercising ethical decision-making regarding company resources.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics (land surveying related fields) with 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with 8+ years, or 10+ years of land surveying experience in lieu of a degree.
•Proven leadership, team-building, and collaboration skills.
•Experience performing both field and office survey work across different types of survey projects.
•Experience managing and maintaining schedules, budgets, staff, and equipment.
•Experience with boundary research/compilations/determinations and processing and adjusting survey control.
