Job Summary

Lead reliability and maintenance strategies across Smithfield Foods’ facilities, driving predictive and preventive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and asset health improvements to increase uptime and OEE. Inspire and develop engineering, reliability, and maintenance teams, standardize best practices, and act as the go-to technical leader for major outages. Own capital planning and execution, partner with Operations and Safety teams, and ensure systems meet regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and execute reliability and maintenance strategies, including predictive/preventive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and asset health optimization to improve uptime, efficiency, and OEE.
•Inspire and develop engineering, reliability, and maintenance teams; close skill gaps and build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
•Serve as technical leader for critical issues, troubleshooting major outages, eliminating recurring failures, and implementing durable solutions.
•Identify system-wide improvement opportunities to reduce waste, optimize cost, and standardize maintenance and engineering best practices across facilities.
•Lead capital planning and execution and partner with Operations, Food Safety, Quality, and Safety teams to align investments with operational priorities.

Travel: Extensive travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 120,000 - 162,500 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field) plus 8+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•2+ years of experience managing/developing teams or leading projects.
•Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues.
•Project management, contract administration, and national codes/standards interpretation skills.
•Proficiency in engineering economics, AutoCAD, and the Microsoft Office suite.
