Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide fire protection project design and delivery across concept-to-construction and commissioning, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • •Design and implement fire hydrant and hose reel systems, automatic fire sprinkler systems, alternative fire suppression systems, gas suppression, and fire detection and evacuation to meet Australian Standards.
  • •Collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines to develop integrated fire protection solutions for large, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • •Ensure fire protection designs comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, local authority regulations, and major client standards.
  • •Use expertise in wet and dry fire protection systems to mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence across projects.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years’ experience as a Fire Protection Engineer for an engineering consultancy (or extensive design experience as a contractor), with Dry Fire experience highly regarded.
  • •A relevant degree and professional registrations (or eligibility) with a progression pathway to RPEQ.
  • •Strong understanding of fire suppression systems and design, including fire hydrants, hose reels, portable fire equipment, and fire water supply infrastructure.
  • •Strong understanding of fire detection and alarm systems, emergency warning and intercom systems, and high-level networking infrastructure.
  • •Experience with industry-standard software such as Hyena and Revizto, with exposure to Revit preferred.
