Job Summary

Develop and maintain first-principles mathematical models for AVEVA Process Simulation, supporting steady-state and dynamic, flow- and pressure-driven modes. Implement model equations using Agile practices such as version control, pull requests, and automated testing. Investigate and resolve complex simulation issues, and collaborate with software developers, thermodynamicists, and solver/optimization engineers to deliver new simulation capabilities across chemical process domains.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop, maintain, and improve first-principles mathematical models for chemical process equipment in steady-state and dynamic modes.
•Implement model equations using Agile software development practices including version control, pull requests, and automated testing.
•Diagnose and resolve complex simulation issues escalated from technical support by identifying root causes.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary squads to deliver new simulation capabilities.
•Contribute to models that run in steady-state, dynamic, flow-driven, and pressure-driven simulation modes.

Key Requirements

•B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent process modeling experience).
•Ability to derive and formulate systems of equations from first principles (mass, energy, and momentum balances).
•Strong foundation in transport phenomena and thermodynamics.
•Familiarity with equation-oriented or simultaneous-equation solving approaches.
•Ability to program model equations and work in a shared codebase using version control (e.g., Git).
