Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee development of Quality Management (QM) plan with Lab Leadership and identify improvement opportunities.
  • •Develop a lab-specific dashboard to incorporate elements of the hospital's goals of service, quality, growth, cost, and people.
  • •Oversee Laboratory Quality Improvement (QI) activities and liaise with the Performance Improvement (PI) Department.
  • •Oversee development of policies and procedures pertaining to patient safety and transfusion service functions.
  • •Participate in hospital-wide Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives/committees.

Key Requirements

  • •North American Board Certification or equivalent Western Board Certification in Clinical Pathology
  • •Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Clinical Pathologist in a CAP-accredited laboratory, with at least 3 years as Director of Laboratory Services & Outreach
  • •Experience in quality improvement methodologies and implementation of laboratory practice guidelines, protocols and pathways
  • •Development of laboratory and administrative policies and procedures
