Key Responsibilities

  • •Build the user-facing platform for the Virtual Cell World Model, developing production-grade backend services and APIs.
  • •Design clean, robust interfaces integrating frontend apps, business logic, large biological databases, and AI inference engines.
  • •Architect and develop scalable systems for biological simulations, experiment management, workflow orchestration, and multimodal biological data processing.
  • •Improve platform performance and reliability through efficient architecture, caching, asynchronous execution, and optimized distributed infrastructure.
  • •Collaborate with AI researchers and cross-functional teams to translate foundation models into reliable scientific products for virtual perturbations and hypothesis generation.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 250,000 - 350,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years operating at a Staff or Principal level building production web services, scalable APIs, and distributed backend systems.
  • •Mastery of clean architecture and modular system design, writing highly maintainable, performant code.
  • •Hands-on experience integrating large-scale AI/LLMs/machine learning inference systems into highly available production environments.
  • •Ability to solve challenging, ambiguous systems problems end-to-end from concept to scalable execution.
  • •Domain familiarity with computational biology, genomics, transcriptomics, protein/molecular structures, healthcare, or scientific software.
