Job Summary

Source new mortgage loan business by working leads inside and outside the bank, reviewing applications, and providing applicants with required documentation. Meet with potential customers to understand needs, present mortgage product options, and manage the end-to-end customer experience from origination and analysis through loan closing. Stay current on lending standards, GSE/FHA/VA guidelines, and applicable bank, regulatory, and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Originate eligible mortgage loans by generating referral activity through banking centers, realtors, home builders, financial planners, networking groups, trade associations, and personal sphere of influence.
•Take and review loan applications, provide applicants with documents needed to support application information, and set realistic expectations for the mortgage process.
•Discuss mortgage-related facts and issues with applicants regarding ability to repay, bank credit policy, and documentation needed for underwriting.
•Oversee the customer experience through the entire loan process, from origination and analysis to loan closing.
•Stay informed of and strictly adhere to lending standards, legal requirements, and all bank policies, regulatory, and legal requirements.

Key Requirements

•3 to 5 years of prior mortgage banking experience, with working knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, and VA.
•Knowledge of bank consumer mortgage lending policies, procedures, and guidelines.
•Understanding of financial analysis and determination of credit worthiness; NMLS certified.
•High school graduate or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
•Excellent communication and public relations skills, including solid interviewing skills and financial analytical skills.
