Key Responsibilities

•Extract and integrate data from external sources (public databases, social media platforms, third-party vendors) to enhance advanced analytics capabilities.
•Conduct in-depth analysis of complex transactional and demographic datasets to identify patterns for risk and opportunities.
•Develop data-based tools and models for propensity modeling and risk mitigation, and recommend improvements based on model effectiveness.
•Continuously evaluate models and make recommendations for improvements.
•Work with and leverage solutions and approaches developed by the wider HSBC Analytics community.

Key Requirements

•3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in banking and the financial sector.
•University degree in Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline; a Master’s degree is highly preferred.
•Extensive technical skill in data mining and understanding structured and unstructured data and data transformation methods.
•Strong technical aptitude with problem-solving, intellectual curiosity, and passion for data discovery.
•Knowledge of banking domain use cases applied to data science problems; experience with data visualization tools like Qlik Sense is a plus.
