Key Responsibilities

  • •Own generation terminals through medium-voltage bus, including switchyards, collector transmission, main power transformers, and the utility relationship for on-schedule energization.
  • •Own high-voltage switchyard architecture, including bus configuration, GIS vs AIS tradeoffs, bus sectionalizing, and fault-current management.
  • •Lead utility interconnection and balancing authority processes, including studies, protection philosophy alignment, telemetry/metering, and technical exhibits to the service agreement.
  • •Own campus protection philosophy and settings database, plus the campus electrical safety program including NFPA 70E, arc-flash labeling, energized work permitting, qualified-worker training, and switching authorization.
  • •Own campus power systems studies (single model of record) and generation electrical interface behaviors (excitation/governor, synchronizing, generator protection, black start, and station service).

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline.
  • •10+ years in transmission, substation, or generation interconnection engineering focused on high-power, high-voltage systems.
  • •Experience carrying a project through a utility or ISO interconnection to energization.
  • •Perform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters or at heights, with appropriate PPE.
  • •Provide 24/7 on-call support for emergencies and work extended hours and weekends as needed.
