Job Summary

Own accounting and controllership for OpenAI’s Ads revenue, including revenue recognition under ASC 606, rev-share, incentives, credits, and close activities. Build scalable month-end and quarter-end close processes with reconciliations, flux analysis, and audit-ready evidence. Design global Ads accounting/control frameworks for expansion and partner across Product, Engineering, Finance Engineering, Data, Billing, Tax, and Legal to define and validate measurement logic, manage risks, and improve governance with AI-enabled automation and tooling, including Oracle Fusion systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Own end-to-end accounting and controllership for Ads revenue, including revenue recognition, contra-revenue, rev-share, incentives, credits, rebates, and close activities under ASC 606.
•Design and execute scalable month-end and quarter-end close processes for Ads with reconciliations, flux analysis, and reviewer-ready evidence.
•Design accounting and control frameworks for global Ads expansion, including multi-currency billing, tax/invoice localization, FX, AR, and GL mapping.
•Translate complex commercial and contractual terms into operational accounting workflows with clear policy alignment and scalable execution.
•Partner to define, validate, and audit Ads measurement logic (impressions, clicks, billable events, usage, rev-share, and invoice data), identify material risks, and support system implementations and audit remediation while improving close and controls with AI-enabled automation.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 162,000 - 180,000 annually

Key Requirements

•6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ads revenue accounting or controllership in a public company or high-growth late stage private company.
•CPA or equivalent expertise with strong command of ASC 606, including variable consideration, principal-agent, incentives, credits, and revenue-share arrangements.
•Direct advertising business expertise (ads/adtech, retail media, marketplace monetization, or closely analogous usage-based revenue models).
•Proven ability to build 0-to-1 finance processes and then harden them into scalable close procedures, reconciliations, controls, and audit-ready evidence.
•Strong data fluency and practical experience applying AI/analytics/automation in a Finance org with sound judgment about controls and limits.
