Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain and enhance the Technical Safety framework, ensuring alignment with BCAA regulations and EASA standards and continuous integrity of the SMS.
  • •Administer the corporate SMS framework and safety policies, including hazard identification, change management alignment, and safety risk management across AMO and CAMO.
  • •Oversee occurrence management, technical event processing, risk scoring, and hazard tracking using AMOS and the corporate aviation SMS database; analyze trends with Quality Assurance.
  • •Conduct independent technical safety investigations (technical accidents, serious incidents, and cyber-safety occurrences), performing RCA and human factors evaluations to define CAPA.
  • •Represent the technical SMS externally and internally (audits and evaluations including IOSA and EASA), prepare safety reporting (QSR, SIE), and direct the Technical Safety Action Group (TSAG) with mitigation tracking.

Key Requirements

  • •University degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Physical Sciences, or an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME).
  • •AME License with Type Ratings on at least one fleet type operated by the airline.
  • •Formal Airline Safety Officer Certification (or equivalent ICAO/IATA SMS qualification).
  • •Specialized training in Accident/Incident Investigation, Maintenance Human Factors/CRM, Flight Data Acquisition and Analysis, and EASA Part-IS framework implementation.
  • •Minimum 6 years’ experience in an Airline Safety Department, including technical/maintenance/quality and technical safety investigations or MRO functions.
