Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the physical “Metal” environment from bare metal through Kubernetes.
  • •Operate and manage cluster networking components including load balancing, NAT, DNS, CNIs, cross-cluster communication, routing protocols, and architecture.
  • •Maintain cluster scheduling and autoscaling.
  • •Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for CSP resources, including versioning and compatibility across Crossplane/Terraform and providers.
  • •Partner with Grafana Cloud application teams to understand needs and invest in the right platform capabilities.

Key Requirements

  • •Operate and manage Kubernetes workloads, including familiarity with Kubernetes scheduling and related projects like Karpenter.
  • •Hands-on experience managing infrastructure with Terraform and/or Crossplane, including keeping modules and compositions compatible over time.
  • •Strong programming and platform development experience with Go (and also Go/Python/Shell in the team workflow).
  • •Comfort working with physical datacenter “metal” environments and participating in an on-call rotation.
  • •Experience with distributed systems and/or cluster networking concepts such as load balancing, NAT, DNS, routing, and cross-cluster communication.
