Key Responsibilities

  • •Own end-to-end firmware test planning and release qualification for assigned embedded controller platforms, including scope definition, estimation, risk assessment, execution tracking, and final test reporting.
  • •Lead functional, integration, regression, negative, and system-level validation across hardware/firmware versions to ensure critical customer and field use cases are covered before release.
  • •Provide technical guidance to test engineers, review test scenarios/results, support onboarding/knowledge sharing, and help resolve blockers during high-priority release cycles.
  • •Drive requirements-based testing and traceability using JAMA (or equivalent) to ensure firmware requirements, features, change requests, and defects map to validation coverage.
  • •Lead validation of cybersecurity and robustness features (port/service hardening, access/security behavior, and fault-handling scenarios) and partner with automation engineers to strengthen CI/CD-based validation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science (or equivalent) with 5–8 years of embedded firmware validation experience and demonstrated technical ownership.
  • •Experience leading firmware test execution across multiple projects/releases, including planning, coordination, technical reviews, risk identification, and stakeholder communication.
  • •Hands-on testing of embedded firmware across functional, integration, regression, negative, and system-level validation on Linux- or microcontroller-based products.
  • •Strong knowledge of embedded controllers, firmware architecture, hardware-software integration, firmware upgrade/downgrade, fault handling, and failure analysis.
  • •Experience validating communication protocols/interfaces (e.g., RS232/RS485, Ethernet, Zigbee, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Modbus) and using tools like JAMA and Jira for test/defect management and traceability.
