Job Summary

Join the PCB manufacturing team as a Manufacturing Engineer, owning and developing PCB processes (SMT, Wave, Selective Solder, Hand Solder, Press Fit, Cleaning, AOI, X-Ray, Conformal Coating). You’ll create and optimize manufacturing plans, routings and work instructions, program SMT/AOI machines, provide floor-level technical support, and drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery within an aerospace quality framework.

Key Responsibilities

•Own and develop PCB processes including SMT, Wave and Selective Solder, Hand Solder, Press Fit, Cleaning, AOI, X-Ray, and Conformal Coating
•Create and maintain manufacturing plans, routings, and work instructions
•Generate and optimise machine programs such as SMT placement and AOI
•Provide day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting on the shop floor
•Drive continuous improvement focused on Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery; support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and audit readiness

Key Requirements

•Strong technical background in Printed Circuit Board manufacture with hands-on understanding of shop-floor challenges
•Knowledge of IPC standards (e.g. IPC-A-600 and IPC-6010) and ability to apply within an aerospace quality framework
•Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to work with Design, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams
•Desirable: UK engineering qualification (HNC/HND or BEng (Hons) in Electrical/Electronic/Manufacturing Engineering)
•Desirable: IPC certification (e.g. IPC-A-600 or IPC-610) / Lean/Six Sigma training (Green Belt) with demonstrable yield or reliability improvements
