Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead project teams delivering coastal and marine projects across sectors such as ports, coastal utilities, reclamation, dredging, subsea infrastructure, and coastal resilience.
  • •Scope, plan, and deliver multidisciplinary marine environmental assessments and monitoring projects on time and within budget; manage risk and schedule.
  • •Lead technical marine EIA delivery, including client and subconsultant engagement, ensuring regulatory compliance and producing deliverables (EIAs, ESIAs, EMPs, EMMPs, DMMPs).
  • •Design, plan, and execute marine environmental baseline and monitoring surveys to assess habitats and associated fauna/flora and water/sediment quality.
  • •Advance business development through proposals and client relationship management; mentor junior scientists and promote safety practices for vessel operations and diving.

Key Requirements

  • •BSc (Hons.) in Marine Biology or closely-related discipline; MSc and/or PhD preferred.
  • •8+ years of marine environmental consultancy experience delivering EIAs, ESIAs, and permitting across marine sectors.
  • •Minimum PADI ‘Rescue Diver’ or UK HSE ‘SCUBA’ qualification plus 2+ years of professional scientific diving experience.
  • •Strong technical writing skills for reporting and permit-related documentation, with adept stakeholder and agency coordination.
  • •Competent in planning and delivering field surveys, including underwater remote video (DDV, ROV, BRUVS), SCUBA-based techniques, and sampling.
