Job Summary

Anticipate and respond to guests’ needs in a fast-paced live music venue, taking drink orders, suggestively selling menu items, and delivering beverages through large crowds. You’ll communicate orders to the bar using the Point of Sale system, maintain safety and sanitation standards, and support responsible alcohol service, including ID checks and refusing service to intoxicated guests. The role also includes cash and payment processing and keeping tables clean throughout each shift.

Key Responsibilities

•Anticipate and respond to guests’ needs by taking orders and suggestively selling beverages and menu items.
•Answer guest questions, make recommendations, and up-sell liquors while communicating drink orders to bar via Point of Sale.
•Deliver drinks and maneuver trays through large crowds while maintaining atmosphere control by circulating during the shift.
•Maintain House of Blues safety and sanitation standards, including housekeeping and keeping tables clean/wiped.
•Serve responsibly by requesting ID for guests who appear under 30, refusing further service to intoxicated guests, and processing payments per policy.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 15.97 hourly

Key Requirements

•Ability to work late hours and maintain a flexible schedule.
•Working knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes and garnishes, and Point of Sale systems.
•3 years’ experience interacting with people in a positive environment.
•Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms.
•Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent, with the ability to handle intoxicated guests safely and courteously.
