Job Summary

Assist herd technicians with routine animal care and general farm tasks to support animal welfare and production goals. Perform farm sanitation, animal removal and movement, and provide feeds, waters, vaccinations, and basic husbandry and veterinary procedures. Help process piglets, treat sick animals with prescribed pharmaceuticals, follow SOPs and animal welfare policies, and comply with environmental, safety, and biosecurity requirements while maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist herd technicians with routine animal care including feeding, watering, vaccinating, and basic veterinary procedures.
•Support animal movement and maintain efficient animal flows in line with farm leadership direction.
•Sanitize and wash multiple farm areas using high pressure equipment and maintain barn, office cleanliness, and laundry duties.
•Process piglets including injecting medications, castrating, docking tails, and ear notching.
•Treat sick animals with prescribed pharmaceuticals and maintain accurate production information and required department records.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED (preferred).
•Previous livestock handling is helpful.
•Ability to perform hard physical labor.
•Strong commitment to teamwork and willingness to follow instructions in standardized situations.
•Ability to work an average 48-hour work week with weekend, evening, and holiday work, and be on call for emergencies.
