Location: San Francisco
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Software Engineering
Seniority: Mid level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Prototype and productionize end-to-end vision navigation and targeting features from simulation to HITL to flight using production C++.
  • •Turn EO/IR/RF/radar detections into well-posed measurement models, making the estimator decision-aware while preserving state integrity.
  • •Stabilize GNSS-to-VIO handover using adaptive covariances, gating, hysteresis, and reset-less alignment to eliminate jumps and estimator resets.
  • •Build and optimize real-time software on Linux/embedded, profiling CPU/GPU, vectorizing hot paths, and optionally using CUDA/TensorRT on Jetson hardware.
  • •Own sensor calibration and time synchronization across IMU/cameras/radar/LiDAR/GNSS; validate in flight and develop evaluation pipelines and dashboards for drift and handover performance.

Key Requirements

  • •Modern C++ on Linux with strong debugging, profiling, and testing discipline; use Python for tooling and analysis.
  • •Build SLAM/state estimation solutions using error-state EKF/UKF, factor graphs, and nonlinear least-squares (Ceres/GTSAM) with observability and covariance tuning.
  • •Hands-on vision experience with VIO/SLAM, camera models, and optical flow/feature tracking; comfort deploying deep learning for detection/seg/pose (PyTorch) on edge.
  • •Integrate and tune multi-sensor systems including IMU strapdown and biases, GNSS/RTK, and sensor suites such as multi-camera, LiDAR, radar, magnetometer, and barometer.
  • •Demonstrated research-to-production delivery with field testing on real platforms; 5 years of experience with a BS/MS/PhD (or equivalent practical experience) in CS/Robotics/EE/Aerospace or related fields.
