Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise on the most appropriate Shari’ah structure for Islamic deals and Sukuk, considering relevant UAE CB regulations, AAOIFI Shariah standards, ISSC guidelines, and supervisor instructions.
  • •Support and liaise with internal and external legal counsels during drafting of facility documents to ensure Shari’ah compliance concerns are reflected in relevant clauses.
  • •Coordinate with internal teams and counterparts in other Islamic banks across syndications and club deals to resolve points of disagreement until a final draft is developed.
  • •Provide Shari’ah advisory for new Islamic products, including review and approval support for product contracts/documents and timely responses to Shari’ah-related business queries.
  • •Review Shari’ah sensitivities mapping and digital journey screens from a Shari’ah perspective, and assist with training for wholesale and new product launches as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in commerce/business/banking.
  • •Certification/qualification in Islamic Banking (preferably AAOIFI certifications).
  • •Significant exposure to Shari’ah principles through studies, courses, or extensive on-the-job learning.
  • •Minimum 10 years’ experience with 7 years relevant experience in the Islamic Financial sector (FIs and/or accounting & auditing firms).
  • •Strong communication skills and exceptional attention to detail; command on MS Office.
