Key Responsibilities

  • •Support a range of testing and commissioning activities using client/industry/manufacturer standards and recommendations.
  • •Perform assigned protection and control testing on high-voltage substations, including on-site protective relay testing with relay test sets.
  • •Document site activities using field forms, digital tools, mobile applications, and maintain accurate logs, photo documentation, and labels.
  • •Resolve field challenges and escalate complex technical issues or unexpected conditions to site/project leadership.
  • •Provide day-to-day support to field teams, mentor junior technicians, and assist with subcontractor monitoring and project reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •Minimum 7 years of electrical testing experience, including medium/high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection and controls testing.
  • •Expertise with transmission, generation, and distribution relays (e.g., SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE) and protective schemes.
  • •Experience with testing standards and procedures such as NETA, IEEE, and NFPA.
  • •Hands-on calibration/testing using relay test sets/devices (Omicron CMC 256/356, Doble F6150) and ability to use technical software like ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron Test Universe, and AcSELerator Quickset.
