Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise all structural, piping, and pipeline welding activities on board offshore barges/vessels and at the job site.
  • •Identify welding personnel, equipment, and consumable requirements to meet project needs prior to offshore mobilization.
  • •Coordinate with Welding Supervisors/Foremen, Welding Inspectors, and third-party NDT personnel; manage welding trials and qualify welding procedures.
  • •Implement applicable welding and QA/QC procedures, maintain welders’ qualification validity, and conduct toolbox meetings to promote safety awareness.
  • •Supervise welding setup (welding, bevelling, clamping) and inspect equipment settings; monitor consumables usage and coordinate with client/inspection teams on welding issues; troubleshoot and maintain progress while ensuring HSE compliance.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • •Knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, mechanised SAW, and automatic welding using GMAW (pulsed) in 5G downhill position, plus air-arc gouging and repair welding.
  • •Working knowledge of structural, piping, and pipeline welding codes including AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3, API 1104, and DNV OS-F 101.
  • •Sound technical knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, SAW, GMAW, FCAW inner shield, STT) and welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and CRA clad steel.
  • •Ability to interpret radiography films, read welding procedure specifications and inspection plans, and demonstrate good written and spoken English skills.
