Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and advise on complex wholesale banking and finance transactions, including bilateral and syndicated loans, structured finance, and cross-border multi-jurisdictional matters.
  • •Draft, review, and negotiate financing documentation and security packages, ensuring alignment with UAE and international banking laws and best practices (including LMA documentation).
  • •Advise on legal and regulatory risks across Corporate & Investment Banking, International Banking, and Treasury & Capital Markets divisions; monitor legal developments and assess impact.
  • •Represent the bank in high-level meetings with clients, regulators, and industry bodies; deliver timely, independent legal solutions with minimal escalation.
  • •Manage external counsel and contribute to legal policies and templates; mentor junior legal staff and promote best practices in legal advice and documentation standards.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 8–10 years’ post-qualification experience in international banking & finance, corporate finance/commercial, and/or treasury and capital markets legal work.
  • •Strong expertise in UAE and international banking laws and financial services regulation, including knowledge of evolving multi-jurisdictional requirements.
  • •Proven track record handling complex, high-value financing transactions and navigating sophisticated financing structures and regulatory frameworks.
  • •Deep legal drafting and research skills with strong experience in LMA documentation, including negotiation of financing agreements and security packages.
  • •Admission to practice law in a recognized jurisdiction, with a relevant legal qualification (law degree) and a legal practice certificate/licence.
