Job Summary

Provide specialist support to the SSNA Whole Boat (Product Architecture and Integration) team by developing, communicating, and maintaining engineering processes across the full engineering lifecycle. Own governance and process-maturity contributions, conduct independent assurance to verify design proving evidence is complete and correctly captured, and support planning/controls for process-related specialist activities. Help grow domain knowledge and contribute to design maturity delivery for the SSN AUKUS submarine platform.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and maintain engineering processes supporting the full engineering lifecycle.
•Articulate the impact of processes on other areas of the business and support governance within and beyond engineering.
•Conduct independent assurance to ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured in the correct tools/documentation, and endorsed by appropriate authority.
•Support the development and delivery of platform design maturity through lifecycle design and build stages.
•Document and pass on domain knowledge of process, governance, and maturity to grow the knowledge base across business teams.

Salary: GBP 49,000

Key Requirements

•Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a STEM-related field.
•Experience in process, governance, and maturity practices, preferably within the defence sector.
•Familiarity with the engineering lifecycle, including direct experience in one or more phases in a systems engineering role.
•Understanding of broader engineering process principles.
•Technical understanding of how process, governance, and maturity work contributes to product, platform, or programme outcomes.
