Job Summary

Originate residential first mortgage loans end-to-end, from application through closing, while meeting management standards for mortgage loan sales and One Bank partnership objectives. Partner with sales leadership to coach and train a Mortgage Loan Consultant/Advisor on loan origination behaviors and the full mortgage process, including underwriting, closing, and pricing. Manage loan pipelines, collect required documentation, use origination/lead generation systems, and ensure risk controls and strong customer service.

Key Responsibilities

•Originate residential first mortgage loans from application to closing and take overall responsibility for the loan process.
•Develop sustainable referral relationships and participate in One Bank referrals to other lines of business.
•Maintain knowledge of mortgage policies, loan products, processing procedures, and departmental guidelines; complete required training on time.
•Coach and train assigned Mortgage Loan Advisor/Consultant on origination position aspects, behaviors, and the end-to-end loan process.
•Use available technology to process applications, collect documentation, manage the loan pipeline through closing, and complete required management reports.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent (four-year college degree preferred).
•3-5 years of mortgage loan origination experience at Fifth Third or a similar institution (preferred).
•Top 25% in closed loan production or units in the prior calendar year, plus a proven track record of exceptional performance.
•Advanced proficiency and adoption of Total Expert and other origination/lead generation systems.
•Knowledge of conventional/government lending guidelines and residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures (plus federal real estate lending regulations).
