Operate and support a vacuum atomization furnace by performing cleaning, monitoring, and securing tasks before, during, and after runs. Handle furnace lid/coils removal and replacement, atomization chamber cleaning, and crucible maintenance, while adhering to CORE and EH&S requirements and personal protective equipment procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform cleaning, monitoring, and securing operations to support vacuum atomization furnace set-up and runs.
•Follow verbal and written instructions to carry out repetitive tasks before, after, and during the atomization process.
•Prepare raw material charges, operate the furnace control board, and assist with minor repairs and housekeeping duties.
•Remove and replace furnace lid and coils; clean the atomization chamber and O-ring seal; maintain crucibles by cleaning and patching cracks.
•Use an electric hoist to manage furnace components and assist with attachment/detachment of gas, electric, and water lines while complying with CORE and EH&S requirements.
