Job Summary

Serve as the on-site HR generalist and business partner for a 300+ person mining site in Carlsbad, supporting both daily workforce needs and corporate HR initiatives. Own full-cycle recruiting activities, deliver onboarding and 30-60-90 day plans, engage employees through field visits, and drive training and workforce development. Apply HR policies for compliance and culture, and use HR metrics (including MS Excel) to inform decisions on turnover, compensation, onboarding, and morale.

Key Responsibilities

•Handle end-to-end recruiting activities including job postings, job fairs, search firm engagements, applications, and interviewing/selection.
•Lead onboarding and day-one/pre-employment processes and assist with 30-60-90 day plans.
•Engage the workforce through daily field visits, respond to employee questions, and support reward and recognition initiatives and community relations.
•Support workforce growth by assisting with training strategy and leading training classes.
•Develop, interpret, and apply HR policies to ensure compliance and shape culture; prepare and interpret HR metrics for decisions on turnover, compensation, onboarding, morale.

Key Requirements

•Apply HR knowledge (laws and principles) to execute business strategies.
•Prior HR generalist experience with ability to operate across core HR activities; experience outside HR is a plus.
•Proficiency with MS Excel and using data to drive continuous improvement.
•Bachelor’s degree is typically required; business-administration, marketing, journalism, math, accounting/finance, or economics is preferred.
•Collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization; demonstrate humility and a growth mindset.
