Job Summary

Design, implement, operate, and optimize ByteDance’s global backbone (WAN) network across major continents. Key Responsibilities

•Plan, design, implement, operate, and optimize ByteDance’s global backbone network across major continents.
•Collaborate with network architecture, SDN, and tools platform teams to improve network scalability, resource utilization, buildout efficiency, and operational excellence.
•Work with team members across multiple time zones to support continuous 7x24 global network operations.
•Partner with the 7x24 NOC team to respond to network incidents, mitigate issues, and restore services during network failures.
•Contribute to improving global, intelligent network infrastructure for high availability, scalability, and high performance.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
•Strong understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, and MPLS-related technologies.
•Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating WAN using mainstream vendor devices (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, H3C, Nokia, etc.).
•Self-motivated with good communication and written skills.
•Preferred: in-depth knowledge of backbone traffic engineering (e.g., RSVP-TE, SRTE-MPLS, SRv6) and QoS technologies/implementations on WAN.
