Job Summary

Support field archaeology projects in the Pacific Northwest as a part-time, on-call technician. Perform field tasks under supervision, collect and maintain data records, assist with calculations and equipment, and travel overnight for field sessions. Projects primarily in Oregon and Washington; reports to Crew Chief/Principal Investigator; based in Portland or Seattle with remote work as needed.

•Assists with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.
•Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.

Key Requirements

•High School graduates plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education with archaeological fieldwork in the PNW region.
•Valid Driver's License with a good driving record, as project travel will be required for this role.
•Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
•Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field (preferred).
•5+ years of experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring (preferred).
