Key Responsibilities

  • •Architect, design, and implement large-scale systems and services handling massive data volumes in real time, including extending ingestion pipelines for new data objects.
  • •Own and continuously improve the complex backend systems behind Braze’s core data objects to enhance performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • •Lead by example and mentor engineers on best practices in software design, coding, and operations.
  • •Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to align core data systems with business objectives.
  • •Maintain and evolve operational procedures such as alerts, on-call rotation, and troubleshooting playbooks to maximize stability and quality.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on full-stack development or backend services for high-scale, high-throughput systems.
  • •Proven experience building foundational data-driven systems at scale, including streaming or real-time pipelines and large-scale data platforms.
  • •Ability to drive architectural direction, scope large efforts, manage technical debt, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
