Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee regional purchasing and inventory management of nonferrous metals, ensuring alignment with monthly forecasts and the buy plan.
  • •Develop and coordinate pricing strategies and market updates, including day-to-day liaison with buyers and centralized sales on pricing and market conditions.
  • •Manage order position and position reporting, chronicle open sales, prioritize deals, and ensure material is moved, packaged, and shipped per requirements and credit rules.
  • •Ensure environmental, health, and safety standards are adhered to, including scrap acceptance guidance and reporting of safety/environmental violations.
  • •Monitor inventory and quality, review supplier and account profitability, perform yard visits, and complete special projects as assigned.

Key Requirements

  • •7–10 years of scrap metal recycling industry experience, ideally at the yard level with the ability to identify and grade nonferrous metal grades.
  • •Experience as a metals recycling buyer, including buying a wide variety of nonferrous metals and alloys and identifying upgrade opportunities.
  • •Valid driver’s license for the state of employment.
  • •Excellent supervisory skills and superior customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally in writing and orally.
  • •Strong negotiation, mathematical/problem-solving, and attention to detail skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
