Job Summary

Detail-oriented lab technician in flavor development supporting flavor creation, formulation prep, data management, and lab operations. Collaborates with flavorists and technologists to ensure accuracy, traceability, and GLP-compliant practices in a fast-paced flavor development environment at our Princeton center.

Job Function: Laboratory & Clinical Operations

Key Responsibilities

•Flavor Compounding & Sample Preparation: Accurately compound flavor formulas provided by flavorists and prepare bench samples and prototypes for evaluation and customer submission, scaling formulations from mg/g bench to pilot quantities.
•Formula & Data Management: Maintain and update formulations in digital systems (e.g. MUSE & Canopy); ensure traceability of ingredients, lot numbers, and revisions; support creation team with version control and documentation.
•Quality & Compliance: Ensure all samples meet SOP and quality standards before release; identify and escalate technical or compounding issues; follow GLP and safety procedures.
•Raw Material & Lab Management: Handle and organize flavor raw materials and ingredients; maintain inventory and storage conditions; keep workbench and lab clean and audit-ready.
•Collaboration with Flavorists: Work closely with flavorists during formulation development; support iteration cycles and rapid prototyping; assist with preparation for sensory panels and evaluations.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in chemistry, food science, or related field
•1+ year of lab or technician experience (flavor/fragrance preferred)
•Basic chemistry or food science knowledge
•Experience in laboratory compounding and weighing precision
•Familiarity with SOPs, documentation, and quality processes
