Job Summary

Technical design and CAD support for substation projects; produce design deliverables (plans, profiles, reports, models) and assist with physical civil layouts and electrical schematics using AutoCAD and MicroStation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure compliance with codes, and deliver accurate, maintainable designs for power delivery infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical design and CAD support for projects, generating design phase deliverables such as reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans and profiles, models, sections, details, specifications, and material lists.
•Assist with drafting tasks for substation projects, including physical and civil layout drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams, ensuring accuracy and client alignment.
•Use 3D CAD software (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation) to prepare detailed substation drawings and grounding plans.
•Adhere to standard practices for proper illustration, fit, form, and function using geometric dimensioning, tolerance, and quantity calculations.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure plans comply with city codes, state and federal regulations.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 67,800 - 108,400 annually

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•Minimum of 7 years of relevant post-education experience in drafting and design support.
•Knowledge of drafting and design support principles, practices, processes, methods and techniques.
•Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
•Ability to perform technical computations involving geometry and mathematics, interpret plans and specifications, and compare to standards.
