Key Responsibilities

  • •Aerodynamics: analyse and optimise aircraft design using methods including wind tunnel testing and computational techniques to ensure safe operation across the flight envelope.
  • •Design Engineering: support stakeholder liaison, product bill of materials management, and produce CAD definition for an optimised and manufacturable product.
  • •Materials Engineering: analyse, qualify, and test materials; investigate properties and failures; and develop new materials for airborne platforms.
  • •Structures Engineering: undertake structural analysis calculations to validate strength, stiffness, and structural life for BAE Systems air products.
  • •Support airframe engineering across development, manufacture, upgrade, and support of combat and fast jet trainer aircraft including Typhoon, F-35, and Tempest.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 34,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Achieve, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or Maths.
  • •Baseline Personnel Security Standard is required for all applicants.
  • •Be able to attend your site 4–5 days per week for this role.
  • •Be able to work across the engineering lifecycle and support products through manufacture, through-life support, qualification, and certification.
  • •Interest and ability to learn across the Aerodynamics, Design, Materials, and Structures disciplines.
