Job Summary

Build and maintain low-level CPU firmware, BIOS, and boot loader software across Arista products. You’ll design and integrate features in EOS for secure, reliable system initialization; develop automated validation tests in C/C++/Python; and work with hardware and vendor teams to qualify new CPUs and components. You’ll also track Linux kernel developments, contribute upstream BIOS features, and provide technical leadership and support for customer and test-engineering issues.

•Develop automated tests using C, C++, and Python to validate features.
•Work with hardware engineers and vendors to qualify new CPUs and components for Arista products.
•Track Linux Kernel developments and contribute upstream BIOS features back to mainline.
•Analyze, mitigate, and fix problems in customer networks; partner with system test engineers to diagnose test issues and provide fixes.

Key Requirements

•BS in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering with 8 years experience, or MS with 6 years, or Ph.D. with 3 years, or equivalent work experience.
•Expert and extensive experience programming in C; knowledge of C++ and Python is desirable.
•Experience designing and developing software in CPU firmware, BIOS, and boot loader environments.
•Experience bringing up new CPU boards and diagnosing/troubleshooting/fixing bugs in low-level CPU firmware, BIOS, and boot loader software.
•Familiarity with Linux kernel architecture and experience with x86 and ARM CPU architectures.
