Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide mechanical engineer support on-site at Y-12/DOE locations with hours 06:00–16:30, Monday through Thursday.
  • •Support estimating, specifying, designing, procurement and construction support for specialty first-of-a-kind equipment.
  • •Create design concepts using Pro/Engineer (CREO) CAD software and topology optimization software as appropriate.
  • •Support major equipment mechanical engineering for systems such as gloveboxes, furnaces, high vacuum systems, and metal casting/machining equipment.
  • •Lead multi-discipline machine design efforts and produce build-to-print equipment fabrication packages (preferred).

Key Requirements

  • •ABET-accredited Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 10 years of experience.
  • •Experience leading multi-discipline machine design efforts and producing build-to-print equipment fabrication packages (preferred).
  • •Pro/Engineer (CREO) CAD experience and ability to create design concepts, using topology optimization as appropriate.
  • •Ability to obtain/maintain a DOE Q clearance.
  • •US citizen, at least 18 years old, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including physicals/drug screen/background investigation.
