Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare and file tax returns and support monthly reconciliations of indirect and/or direct tax accounts to ensure accurate reporting and timely submissions.
  • •Support tax audits and tax authority inquiries by providing documentation and analysis.
  • •Maintain tax compliance calendars and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tax processes; help optimize compliance and reporting efficiency.
  • •Assist with financial accounting activities including journal preparation, month-end processes, trial balance review, balance sheet reconciliations, and query resolution.
  • •Support statutory compliance by preparing annual company returns and Stats SA returns, and assist with audit deliverables and BPO service provider exception reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •B. Comm degree and 5 years finance experience with exposure to taxation and accounting, plus computerized information systems knowledge.
  • •Experience with taxation and company requirements in a computerized accounting environment, including control systems knowledge.
  • •Ability to prepare and reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate, timely tax computations, returns, and reconciliations.
  • •Knowledge of IFRS and responsibility for journal preparation, month-end processes, trial balances review, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • •Experience supporting Companies Act and statutory compliance deliverables, including annual company returns and Stats SA returns.
