Job Summary

Lead an investigative 6-month secondment to map Taylor & Francis’s current data and AI/ML intelligence landscape. Audit and inventory data assets, assess how data and algorithmic decision-making are used across product, engineering, and commercial teams, identify capability gaps versus the AI platform ambition, and produce an evidence-based baseline plus actionable recommendations that will enable the permanent Head of Data & Intelligence to move quickly from day one.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct a structured audit and inventory of existing data assets, including source, format, quality, accessibility, and usage in product/commercial decisions.
•Map AI, machine learning, and algorithmic decision-making in operation, including informal or team-built tools.
•Assess maturity, quality, and commercial relevance of discovered capabilities and identify gaps versus the UC/Marketplace ambition.
•Synthesize stakeholder insights across Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Data teams into an evidence-based baseline report.
•Deliver strategic recommendations and foundational documentation to support the permanent Head of Data & Intelligence, including relationship handover.
