Key Responsibilities

•Design, review, and deliver end-to-end technical architecture for the mortgage system rebuild, ensuring stable deployment and reliable operations on AWS.
•Lead the engineering team and run technical design and code reviews to enforce unified engineering standards and promote agile delivery.
•Establish technical specifications for Java development, Spring Boot usage, PostgreSQL design, and IaC/CI/CD/DevOps workflows for AWS environments.
•Optimize availability, scalability, performance, resilience, and cost following AWS best practices; tune Spring Boot and PostgreSQL for production workloads.
•Analyze mortgage business rules, translate requirements into maintainable Java implementations, mitigate technical risks, resolve critical production incidents, and drive legacy refactoring and upgrades.

Key Requirements

•8 to 15 years of solid software development and technical leadership experience, aligned with HSBC GCB4 competency standards, with a track record delivering large-scale enterprise core systems.
•Expert-level proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with extensive experience building enterprise-grade backend applications.
•Deep hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database design, development, performance tuning, indexing, and production operations.
•Experience deploying, managing, and operating Java and PostgreSQL workloads on AWS, including AWS core services, cloud networking, IAM, and cloud security controls.
•Strong expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, containerization, and distributed system design.
