Job Summary

Install, maintain, test, document, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic network infrastructure supporting the Willow Development in Alaska’s North Slope. Own physical-layer work such as structured cabling, fiber splicing, OTDR and certification testing, and connectivity troubleshooting. Keep accurate cable plant documentation and asset inventories in ServiceNow, support LAN/WAN and WiFi connectivity, assist with cabling design and vendor coordination, and follow rigorous safety processes on a 2-week on/2-week off rotation.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Install, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber optic cabling; perform fiber splicing/polishing and manage enclosures.
•Conduct OTDR, power meter, and copper/fiber certification testing; maintain and troubleshoot physical-layer infrastructure such as patch panels, FDFs, network cabinets, and pathways.
•Develop and maintain accurate copper/fiber documentation and as-built records; keep cable plant and network asset inventory in ServiceNow and support audits.
•Provide day-to-day support for LAN/WAN and WiFi connectivity related to copper/fiber infrastructure; troubleshoot physical connectivity issues impacting site networks and critical systems.
•Assist with cabling design, routing, capacity planning, maintenance/upgrades, vendor bill-of-materials development, and end-user/site training, while complying with safety processes.

Key Requirements

•Legally authorized to work in the United States.
•Current/valid driver’s license.
•5+ years of experience supporting copper and fiber optic infrastructure in an industrial or enterprise environment.
•1+ year each with fiber optic transport technologies (including testing and troubleshooting) and with maintaining accurate cable plant documentation/as-built records.
•Willing and able to work a remote work location on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off schedule and meet physical demands in Arctic conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation).
