Job Summary

Develop and maintain the virtual CPU and memory components of the virtual machine monitor that powers Broadcom’s VMware Cloud Foundation. Work on bleeding-edge processor and virtualization features including VT-x/AMD-V, interrupt virtualization, and memory virtualization/management. Collaborate with a team of engineers to design and deliver enhancements for new processors and monitor modernization, with opportunities to present work across the broader vSphere organization.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain and develop the virtual CPU and memory aspects of the virtual machine platform that runs guest operating systems.
•Get up to speed in a specialization area (e.g., CPU feature enablement, confidential computing, monitor architecture modernization, hardware accelerators, power-aware compute, or guest timekeeping).
•Design and deliver features supporting new processors or enhancements to the virtual machine monitor architecture.
•Contribute to implementations such as CPU instruction set updates in a virtualization context and memory virtualization/management features.
•For more senior roles, propose designs that help define the engineering roadmap and drive technical efforts with other engineers.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 143,800 - 230,000 annually

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 12+ years of related experience, or Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 7+ years.

•Proficiency in x86_64 CPU architecture.
•Must have legal authorization to work in the US.
