Key Responsibilities

  • •Negotiate and draft agreements necessary to develop, produce, and/or acquire Netflix live-action feature films.
  • •Advise on legal and business issues related to rights, talent, licensing/acquisition agreements, production services agreements, and chain of title review.
  • •Collaborate effectively with internal teams including creative, production, and finance, plus other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • •Manage legal work proactively and reliably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with tight timeframes.
  • •Support the successful execution of Netflix’s feature film slate by applying sound judgment when rules are unclear.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 10+ years of broad-based development, production, and acquisition experience focused on feature motion pictures.
  • •Deep familiarity with and understanding of related/ancillary film documents and matters (rights, above-the-line agreements, licensing and acquisition agreements, production services agreements, chain of title review).
  • •Prior in-house experience is required, with major film studio experience strongly preferred; film acquisition experience is highly desirable.
  • •J.D. and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
  • •Strong communication and analytical judgment, especially on first-impression issues with unclear rules.
