Job Summary

Part-time Legal Research Intern supporting AI-powered legal tools. You will read and analyze judicial opinions, verify AI-extracted data against sources, and identify errors or ambiguities in automated outputs. You’ll collaborate with legal researchers and ML engineers to improve data quality, gaining hands-on experience at the intersection of law and technology. Hybrid internship based in Salt Lake City or Chicago for 2L–3L students.

Key Responsibilities

•Read and analyze published judicial opinions across state and federal jurisdictions.
•Review outputs generated by AI systems and verify their accuracy against the source legal materials.
•Apply your legal research training to identify errors, ambiguities, or edge cases in automated outputs.
•Collaborate with legal researchers and ML engineers to improve data quality over time.
•Provide feedback to improve AI tools used in legal research.

•Currently enrolled as a 2L or 3L at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law or BYU J. Reuben Clark Law School

•Strong attention to detail and familiarity with legal writing
•Interest in legal technology or AI
