Job Summary

Serve as a seasoned business/commercial lawyer for Visa’s India & South Asia Legal team. Advise business teams on deal structures and contract enhancements across incentives, partnerships, products, interchange, and marketing agreements. Draft, negotiate, and drive to completion complex commercial, technology, and strategic partnership agreements, providing risk-based judgment and support to senior stakeholders while coordinating with global and regional legal teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Counsel and advise business teams on deal structures and approaches to addressing issues.
•Provide strategic legal guidance as a trusted advisor to the India & South Asia team on complex business and commercial matters in payments/fintech.
•Review and advise on commercial and contractual enhancements using risk-based judgment across day-to-day matters.
•Draft, negotiate, and drive complex commercial, marketing, technology, and strategic partnership agreements to completion.
•Act as a legal stakeholder for the region and liaise with global and regional legal teams, including some work-related travel.

Key Requirements

•10 to 16 years of post-qualification legal experience and qualified to practice law in India.
•Solid corporate/commercial law experience drafting and negotiating strategic, complex cross-border deals.
•Ability to advise on complex legal issues in multiple jurisdictions with strong legal drafting skills.
•Excellent written and spoken English and ability to work independently with minimal supervision while interfacing with executive stakeholders.
•Strong commercial sense, analytical skills, and risk/benefit judgment; genuine interest in technology and the payments industry.
