Job Summary

Provide commercial legal counsel to WPP agencies and internal teams in an international environment. Draft, review, negotiate, and support complex commercial contracts—especially customer contracts for media planning and media buying, plus supplier agreements for advertising, marketing, and ad-tech services including influencer collaborations. Support pitches and contract renegotiations with standardized templates, train stakeholders on key legal topics (advertising, data protection, AI, IP), and help mitigate dispute and compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities

•Create, review, negotiate, and provide legal support for complex commercial contracts, including customer media planning/buying contracts and supplier agreements for advertising, marketing, ad-tech services (including influencer collaborations).
•Provide legal support and expert advice to WPP agencies in Germany and assist the global WPP Legal team and other markets as needed.
•Train stakeholders on legal topics relevant to the media and marketing industry, including advertising, data protection, AI, and intellectual property.
•Support legal aspects of customer pitches and commercial renegotiations, and continuously develop standardized contract and document templates.
•Advise on risk mitigation for disputes, including contractual and data protection compliance.

Key Requirements

•Completed second German state examination (zweites juristisches Staatsexamen) and several years of relevant professional experience in a legal department or law firm.
•Practical experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial and service contracts; media, marketing, or agency experience is an advantage.
•Strong knowledge of contract, data protection, copyright, and intellectual property law, with awareness of current regulatory developments, especially AI.
•Ability to assess legal risks pragmatically and develop strategic solutions for complex business cases.
•Negotiation-level German and English skills (written and spoken).
