Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and design heat rejection and HVAC systems tailored for data centers, including cooling requirements, airflow/humidity control, redundancy, energy efficiency, and compliance with standards.
  • •Select and size appropriate air/water-side cooling systems (e.g., CRAHs/CRACs, chilled water, DX, containment) based on cooling needs and equipment criticality.
  • •Run internal and external CFD analyses to optimize airflow distribution, identify hotspots, and recommend design modifications in coordination with other trades.
  • •Design HVAC systems for redundancy and fault tolerance to maintain continuous operation during equipment failure or maintenance.
  • •Perform heat-load calculations and capacity planning for current and future IT equipment loads and facility phases, including admin/common area HVAC loads.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • •Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation.
  • •P.E. registration is required.
  • •Familiarity with data center mechanical/electrical requirements for mission critical environments, including HVAC and heat rejection systems.
  • •Knowledge of data center standards such as Uptime Institute TER, TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002 (preferred).
