Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as dispatch back-up for the operational supervisor in the central dispatch department, making scheduling decisions to meet customer needs.
  • •Continuously monitor orders, track and schedule deliveries throughout the day, and adjust schedules to optimize driver and equipment usage.
  • •Track progress of orders across dispatch regions and direct truck movement between dispatchers as needed to maintain service.
  • •Handle exceptions including late/sick drivers, truck breakdowns, accident/incidents, and plant closings; coordinate notifications and dispatch foremen/field personnel when needed.
  • •Communicate with customers and internal teams, initiate weekly customer calls, manage daily “key order” alerts, and schedule plant and driver safety meetings.
