Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical and electrical systems such as electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines (gas/diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • •Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment; road test vehicles to confirm diagnoses and proper operation.
  • •Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation, and maintain the vehicle with safety checks.
  • •Document work per company standards: complete DOT forms and upload Repair Order details and photos using the company iOS device and TRAIT application, and communicate with management for approvals.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED with 3 years of experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination such as 5 years experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools required for the role.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • •Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a current DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining).
  • •Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain a Driver Qualification File; be at least 21 years old.
